We are looking for books for our School Library

Will you help?

CFJ Padri Vjeko School desperately needs books to build up a School Library for our students. Any used books (in good condition) are welcome!!!

By 2010, the Rwandan government would like the language of Education in Rwanda to be English, so we could really use books to learn the language. Read more...

Oswald NgendahimanaIn 26 years of living and working in our monastery Oswald Ngendahimana, or Oswaldi as we call him out of love, has welcomed and seen off 23 friars. The best way to describe him is to say that Oswaldi is the sole fixed point of Kivumu; he is our Guardian Spirit! And considering the things that he has been through in 46 years of his life, I would add that this man’s life deserves to be put on screen...

Kivumu childWith all the students leaving primary school and not being able to afford secondary education it is obvious to both the Government of Rwanda and to the Church that more secondary schools are needed in the country. We intend to build a private secondary school in Kivumu parish as there is none to date.

Douglas ShawIn Rwanda you are never far away from a reminder of the 1994 genocide. A while back we went to Kigali for the day and stopped at many of the sights from films such as “Shake Hands With the Devil”, “Shooting Dogs”, and “Hotel Rwanda”. We also stopped at the Kigali Genocide Memorial. It was a sobering experience to say the least. The horrors of the genocide are truly unfathomable. We know a couple of people who lost every single member of their family.
