We don’t throw anything away here. Each and every thing will be nailed, screwed, honed, and patched a hundred times if needed. Everything is useful as long as it can be repaired.  It’s the same with our old school desks and chairs.

I’ve already written about how we recently manufactured fifty-four new desks and ninety-five chairs for the six newly built classrooms (for the primary school).  We plan to make an additional one hundred desks and two hundred chairs.

But before we started making new school furniture, we first had to deal with the old units which weren’t being used due to poor condition: some were wobbly, and some were broken – most of it useless. I’m talking about school desks with sitting benches attached to them. As many as forty-three of those were damaged and, therefore, put aside. We managed to repair them all and return them to the classrooms!

Because of the lack of furniture, and with so many students, the children literally had to squeeze in together fit in the desks. The repaired furniture will now substantially reduce the school-desk crowding!
