Dear friends, as you can see for yourselves, we are very busy with the construction of the new technical secondary school.

The first phase of construction consists of: 11 classrooms with toilets, two rainwater reservoirs (an underground tank with a capacity of 500 cubic metres, and a surface one with a capacity of 100 cubic metres), and a supporting wall (80m long by 4.5m high).

The supporting wall is completed, the classrooms with toilets are to be completed by the end of the year, and we hope to finish building the reservoirs in a month or two. We have managed to accomplish all this, largely thanks to the generous help of Croats throughout the world, brothers from the Belgian Franciscan Province, and Fr. Hubert Nophut OFM from Germany.

Preostaje nam zatim da dovršimo i drugu fazu, a time i čitavu školu koja će tada moći primiti i do tisuću učenika. Premda nas čeka još mnogo posla, osvjedočivši se u dobrotu ljudi spremnih da iziđu u susret ljudima u potrebi, siguran sam da ćemo uspješno realizirati ovaj projekt i time otvoriti nove mogućnosti djeci Kivumua.

Although there is still much work to be done, having witnessed the goodness of the people willing to help those in need, I am confident that we will succeed in realizing this project and so open up new possibilities for the children of Kivumu. It now remains now for us to bring the second phase to completion as well. With it, the entire school will be finished and will then be able to take in as many as one thousand students.
